Come Join us for Steel Day – September 18, 2009

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

SteelDay-Web-Banner_2Standard Supplies, Inc. is proud to announce that we have joined in the effort to spread awareness in the community and construction industry about structural steel and its many benefits by teaming up with AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) for Steel Day!

To promote Steel Day in style, Standard Supplies will be opening its fabricating doors at our steel office in Gaithersburg to the area’s architects, engineers, owners, contractors and others in the community to see our fabrication process. Not only will visitors be able to see how steel is fabricated, but they will also be able to see our new RFID tagging system which enables us to see exactly where each piece of material is during the process. Plus, learn how we are using Tekla Structures for BIM to provide owners and contractors the option of utilizing the new way to build a building – using the design-build process.

Steel Day is a cause for celebration, so please join our festivities on September 18th. Make sure you come with an appetite! We’ll be having a cookout so you can grab some food and drinks before or after you tour our shop, learn about our services, and mingle with your friends here at Standard Supplies.

Stay tuned for more updates coming in May! In the meantime, if you would like additional information about the Steel Day efforts across the country, please feel free to visit the official website at www.SteelDay.org.
