1. Arlington County – Replacement of the lower athletic field at Thomas Jefferson Community Center – Replacement of current stone dust turf with synthetic infill type turf system, replacement of existing field lighting – Pre-Bid Meeting is going to be 11am September 3rd, 2009.

2. Phase Two of Marley – Jumpers Sewer Rehabilitation – $2,000,000.00$3,000,000.00  Project. 15in -8 in sanitary sewer pipe installation as well as low pressure pipe, grinder pumps, 30 manholes, house laterals,and paving restoration.

3. Lehman’s Mill Road Stream Bank Stabilization – Stabilization of eroding stream banks along Antietam Creek, removal of trees, placement of rip-rap and class II rip rap, road pavement (full depth), installation of traffic barrier, and embankment stabilization with grasses, live stakes, fascines, and trees. Bids Due – 1pm on Sept. 23, 2009.

Here are some new construction projects that are bidding soon:

1. Olive Garden – Lexington Park, MD – 7,593sqft.  A new Olive Garden Restaurant is scheduled to be built in Lexington Park.  Bids are due in by June 10th 2009 so act quickly if you want to be a involved in this project.

2. Deer Creek Renovation Beach Bath House - McHenry County. The department of Natural Resources is renovating this facility top to bottom.  Ex. doors / hardware / shower components / copper water pipe / grab bars / sinks / mirrors etc. Bids are due June 18th 2009.

3. Rockville, MD -Furnish and Plant Trees and Shrubs- This is a bid that the city of Rockville has issued.  Bids are due in June 9th 2009.

New Construction Projects

i-need-workTo all of our Readers here are some of the most popular projects that will be starting soon.

 

 

 

1. Hershberger Avenue Extension Project – In the town of Grantsville Hershberger Avenue  is about to become bigger!  The two lane road is about to extend to MD 40 intersection.  This road extension will include the two 12ft lanes, concrete curb and gutter (180 ft), 5 ft concrete sidewalk , improvements to storm water piping and inlets and pedestrian lighting along the sidewalk.  Also There will be some improvements done for waterlines and overhead telephone lines.

2. Salisbury University Salisbury, MD-  Business School. A 115,000 sqft building will be going up and the the bids are due on Thursday May 21st. 

3. Carroll Manor ES Addition and Renovation – Hagerstown, MD. This is a aprox. 21,000 sq ft addition and renovations to the existing 55,000 sqft building. Bids are due 5-14-09 so act quickly and contact me if you want to get more info.

New Construction Projects:

1. Rt. 213 – Stormwater Retrofit For Gravel Run South – Centreville, MD. Work Consists of excavation of existing system and then.
Bid Due April 28th, 2009.

2. DOT Stream Stabilization for Tributary – Frederick, MD.  Work includes excavation and fill along the stream channel, Stabilization of the new stream embankment, stabilization of the two side channels, vegetation installation for erosion control, and drainage improvements including a riprap wall.
Bid Due April 23rd, 2009.

3. Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority: Rehab of the Runway 1C-19c of Dulles International Airport – (estimated value of project $40,000,000.00)
Work includes demolition and removal of concrete pavement, earthwork and embankment, pavement under drains, construction  of new concrete pavements and bituminous pavements. Bid Due April 27th, 2009.

4. Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture – LEED Silver Project – Baltimore County, MD – (estimated value of project $5,000,000.00) Work includes Site / Civil / and Building.  Bid Due April 23rd, 2009.

5. Harris Teeter #373- Potomac, MD  Harris Teeter is building a store location at 12525 Park Potomac Ave. in Potomac MD.  The bid due date for this is April 16th, 2009.

Happy Friday the 13th!  Friday the 13th is the day to avoid walking under ladders but there are no excuse not to put a few bids in on some construction projects in your area!

Here is one lead that might be worth checking out !

Montgomery County Public Schools – Cabin John Middle School Modernization – This project will include Site Work, Concrete, Masonry, Steel, General Carpentry, Roofing, Window/Glazing, Drywall &Acoustical, Casework, PHVAC, and Electrical.

Bid Date is March 31st 2009 Potential Bidders who are not pre-qualified by Montgomery Count Public Schools must submit a technical offer for bid prequalification 10 days prior ( Ten Business Days is by 3-17-09)  Forms for prequalification are available at www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/construction/bids/bidnotice.shtm

They are shooting for 25% MBE participation on this project.

#4 Gaithersburg, Maryland - National Institute of Standards and Technology is planning on building a Child Care Center.  This project will be a LEED – Silver building apox. 17,000 sq. ft. one story buidling. Along with the contracting of the building, there are bidding opertunities for the site work including earth grading, storm water controls, and a parking lot installation.
